Fund Raising - 2007-8 JPAT Scrip Program

It's easy to keep buying JPAT SCRIP through the summer. Here's how:

1. Place your order. You can call (753-7622) or email me (ann.blegen@comcast.net) to place your order.

2. Pay and pick up in one easy step. Go to the Timberhill Coffee Culture to pay for and pick up your order. Other arrangements can be made is this isn't convenient.

The scrip program at Jefferson is one of the most important and lucrative fund raising efforts we do during the school year. The scrip program made over $7000 during the 2005-2006 school year.

Fill out this order form and then drop it off at the school or email it to Ann Blegen.

If you are interested in ordering scrip from the holiday order form year round, you may do so each week by e-mailing Ann Blegen with your order by Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Your scrip will generally be ready for pick-up at the school on Tuesday.

"Scrip" is gift certificates or gift cards to various merchants which JPAT buys at a discount from the merchant and sells to you at face value. For example, JPAT buys a $100 Fred Meyer card for $95 from Fred Meyer, sell it to you for $100, you have $100 to spend at Fred Meyer, and JPAT makes $5 from the transaction. The amount of our discount varies from merchant to merchant but ranges from 2% to 25%.

The beauty of scrip is that it costs you NOTHING extra, because you are simply shopping at your favorite businesses as usual....it simply means a little bit of planning ahead to buy the gift cards from JPAT before you go shopping, out to dinner or to the movies.

For those who have been regular customers and would like to take scrip buying to the "next level", please see the new option below for year-round special orders.

Scrip for all of the merchants in inventory - over 40 local grocery stores, restaurants, book stores, video rental stores, and retailers - is available for sale before and after school at the scrip table in the lobby of the school (or outside if the weather is nice.) We currently have the table staffed all five days of the week after school (2:20-2:50) and will soon have it open all five mornings of the week before school (8:00-8:30.) A list of scrip merchants carried in inventory is at the bottom of this flyer. .

If the table times don't work for you, you may order your scrip. Order forms (found next to the scrip mailbox or on the JPAT website) and payment by check may be turned into the locked scrip mailbox next to the front door of the school. Your scrip will generally be available within one day, for pick-up at the office at your convenience.

50% of the scrip profits will be allocated to the classroom or program of your choice on a monthly basis. This way, your child's teacher or the program you choose will be able to have more funds in their discretionary spending account on a regular basis. The remaining 50% profit goes to JPAT for general use in the school community.
