4/30 Lottery "Space Available" Forms due

Franklin School Enrollment Lottery was held this past week. Letters informing applicants of their status have been mailed to families. If there is space available for a student, families have until Friday, April 30 to return the "Space Available" form and registration materials to the Franklin School office.
Limited openings remain in the middle school grades. Please pass this information along to those you know who might be interested in the program Franklin middle school offers. Applications are still available in the Franklin office for families interested in being placed on the Waiting List for the elementary grades.

4/30 Popcorn Friday

 

5/1 Hang Artwork for Fine Arts Night from 9 am on...

Fine Arts Chair Deb Kadas needs an "army" of parents to help hang artwork in the school on Saturday, May 1, 2004, beginning at 9:00. Have soccer that morning? No problem! We need volunteers all day! Can't come at all that day? That's ok...we also need lots of parents to help set up chairs and decorations after school on Thursday, May 6. Can't make that either? How about calling Vicki Quinn (752-1529 or vquinn@peak.org) and offer to make a few dozen cookies or brownies for the event. The cookies can be brought to school that morning and dropped at the office. And no matter what, be sure to come Thursday, May 6 at 6:30 pm for a wonderful evening of art, music, band and orchestra!!! Please call Deb at 754-6611 ASAP to let her know if you can help. We really need it!!!

5/7 Grandfriend's Day

Grandfriend's Day is on Friday, May 7 from 10:15 am-12:30 pm. The second annual Grandfriend's Day is an opportunity for family and community members to visit Franklin School during the district sponsored Back to School Week. "Grandfriends" are invited to visit in the classroom and have lunch with the students. An RSVP form was attached to the newsletter. If you plan on a "Grandfriend" visiting, please fill out the form and return to the Franklin School office. If the "Grandfriend" will be enjoying a hot school lunch with the students, please include $2.25 for their lunch (checks payable to the Franklin School). "Grandfriends" are welcome to bring a sack lunch. So, invite that special person to spend a day at Franklin School with you!

TAG Advisory Board Position OPEN

A Franklin parent is needed to serve on the Corvallis School District TAG Advisory Board. The position covers three schools...Inavale, Franklin & Lincoln...at monthly meetings. If interested in serving on this board, contact Principal Mike Strowbridge at 757-5747.

VOLUNTEERS:

Parent volunteers are needed to collect appliance boxes and create display boards from the boxes for a history project for Franklin students. If you can help, contact Jeanne Czernowski, 3rd grade teacher, at 757-5747 or jeanne.czernowski@corvallis.k12.or.us.

May 6 - FINE ARTS NIGHT IS COMING!

School. The Performing Arts program begins at 6:30 pm, with refreshments and
Visual Arts gallery viewing to follow at 7:45 pm. This is one of our
school's biggest events of the year...hope to see you there!
