CPO MINUTES OCTOBER 5, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 am.
Introductions were made.
Minutes were approved.

Treasure’s Report: Book Fair profit increased over last years.
$1000 is budgeted for the school year for teachers to attend
conferences. So far we have spent $400. Two more requests
were voted on and approved. The committee still has half our
remaining budget for spring.

Guest speaker - Kari Rieck from the PR2 Committee (Program
and Resource Review Committee) in our school district. They
work on the budget (to make it user friendly), school boundaries
and school capacity issues. Please complete an online survey
http://www.csd509j.net/ and scroll down to Budget News.
This survey is needed promptly. A decision will be made at the
December meeting. They meet every Wednesday 7-9 pm at
Adam’s Elementary School. All meetings are open to the public.
Further info contact Kari Rieck.

Principal’s report: Ms. Corliss reports a good open house. Five
times more positive cards have been given out this year than
detention cards! We have 2 district-wide goals: literacy and
extended learning. Several students who need help with reading
are taking a literacy class. There are several upcoming grade level
tests: MAP (grades 6 &7), TESSA (8th grade) and ORF
(oral reading fluency) which is a district test.

Site Council: meets Wed. Oct. 12 after school.
Volunteer Coordinator: If you are interested in chairing a committee
next year, please speak to the chair this year, as an apprentice
would. We always need volunteers in our school. Contact

a little less than last year, we get 45% of this money.
